Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Özbey

Dr. Hüseyin ÖZBEY completed his medical education at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (Çapa) and continued his academic career in the same faculty. Between 1997-1998 and 2001-2002 Prof. at the Graz Medical Faculty, Austria. He worked with Michael Höllwarth. He specializes in pediatric surgery, pediatric urology, with a special interest in the treatment of children with hypospadias and "Sexual Developmental Problems (DSD)". He developed his own technique (GFC-Glanular-Frenular Collar), which was recently published in the Journal of Pediatric Urology and is considered the most anatomical surgical repair in the treatment of hypospadias. He was the founder and president of the Sexual Development and Hypospadias Association in Turkey. Since 2017, it has organized international meetings on hypospadias and the Hypospadias Working Day. Between 2017-2020, he was the head of the Department of Pediatric Urology, Department of Pediatric Surgery at Istanbul Medical Faculty. Since 2020, he has been continuing his academic studies as a "visiting professor" at Sechenov State Medical University, Moscow, Department of Pediatric Surgery, Department of Pediatric Urology and Andrology.
