She started her academic career at Atatürk University, Faculty of Medicine and earned the title of Professor Doctor in 2011. Again in 2011, she received a Certificate of Specialization in the sub-branch of ALGOLOGY (Pain Treatment).
She completed ACUPUNCTURE APPLICATION TRAINING at Gazi University on 02.08.2007 and received an Acupuncture practice certificate approved by the Ministry of Health.
In 2011, she took part in the establishment of Atatürk University Acupuncture and Complementary Medicine Methods Application and Research Center (ATYAM).
Since 2012, he has been working as an "INSTRUCTOR" in the theoretical and practical Acupuncture Practice Training courses organized with the approval of the Ministry of Health.
To date, many researches on acupuncture treatment have been published in domestic and international journals. She made conference presentations and organized courses at various acupuncture congresses.
Prof. Dr. Saliha KARATAY has also been involved in various education and research activities abroad during her 18-year academic career. She participated in teaching and training activities within the scope of ERASMUS "Faculty and Trainer Exchange Program" at the University of Debrecen in Hungary in 2012 and at the University of Rzeszow in Poland in 2013.
She was an observer faculty member at YALE University in the USA in 2013. In 2015, she participated in the English lecture-seminar program at the NOVA Community College in the USA within the scope of the "Mevlana Academic Staff Mobility Program".

Published 88 scientific articles, 50 of which were abroad, during his academic career, Prof. Dr. Saliha KARATAY has presented 100 papers in various international and national congresses. These publications have been cited 346 times by international journals. She is also the author of 4 chapters in the books related to her field. She still continues her duties as a referee and editor in respected international and national journals.
