Prof. Dr. Zehra Neşe Kavak

She worked at St. Thomas's Hospital / London in 1990-1991 to be counted towards her residency.

She became an Associate Professor at Marmara University Medical Faculty Hospital in 1996.

In 2000-2001, she worked on Perinatology at King's College Hospital/London intermittently.

She received his Perinatology Specialist at King's College Hospital, London (2004). In 2001, she established the Perinatology Unit at Marmara University Medical Faculty Hospital.

In the same year, she became a professor and was appointed Chief Physician. Between 2001 and 2005, she served as Chief Physician at Marmara University Hospital. Between 2002-2006, she served as the Advisor to the Rector of Marmara University.

She was elected as the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Marmara University Medical Faculty Hospital in 2002 and held this position for two terms.

She served as the Head of the Department of Perinatology between 2001-2011. She has 69 articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, 83 articles published in national peer-reviewed journals, a total of 152 articles, a total of 1229 citations to these articles, 11 completed assistant residency thesis directed by him, 120 papers presented at international and national scientific meetings and published in proceedings books. Kavak has been invited to various countries of the world 112 times to speak at international meetings on perinatology. In addition, she has 23 post-specialization training certificates obtained abroad.

She serves on the editorial board of many national and international scientific journals.

She was elected a member of the World Academy of Art and Science, founded by Einstein and Oppenheimer in 2004, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Academy in 2009. She is the first Turk to be elected to these positions. prof. Kavak is the first Turkish doctor to be elected to the Board of Directors of the "World Association of Perinatology" in September 2005 due to his studies on Perinatology.

In October 2007, she was elected as a member of the "International Academy of Perinatal Medicine", one of the most respected institutions in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the first Turkish doctor to be appointed to this position.

She is a board member of the “Fetus as a Patient Society”. (2006) The main research subject is the use of 3D-4D ultrasonography in pregnancy and invasive interventions in pregnancy. Kavak is the author of a total of 13 book chapters, 8 in English, 3 in Spanish and 1 in Turkish, published abroad on these topics, and she has 1 book published in English and Spanish, and 1 Turkish book.

In 2007, she was invited to New York Cornell University to lecture as a visiting professor and lectured as Lecturer Professor. She was appointed as the Founding Rector of Istanbul Kent University by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on September 15, 2017.
