Op. Dr. Tonguç Arslan

In 2004, he won the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of Göztepe Training and Research Hospital, which was the largest full-fledged hospital on the Anatolian side of Istanbul at that time, in the Medical Specialization Examination.

He received intensive training for 5 years by performing open, closed and vaginal surgeries for many pregnant women, vaginal birth, cesarean section, gynecological diseases (fibroids, cysts, cancer, urinary incontinence, genital prolapse, etc.).

After becoming a specialist in 2009, he made observations in the Perinatology and Gynecological Oncology departments of Leuven University Hospital in Belgium for a while. In 2010, he served as a reserve officer at Elazig Military Hospital for 1 year.

He fulfilled his compulsory service obligation in medicine at Artvin State Hospital in 2011-2012. After returning to Istanbul, he worked freelance for a while and worked as a specialist physician on duty in various hospitals.

As of August 2014, he started working at the VKV American Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Here, he first gained knowledge and experience on the working principles, patient evaluation, treatment approaches and interventional procedures in the IVF (in vitro fertilization) clinic.

Later, he continued to work in the gynecological oncology department of the clinic and accompanied many advanced open and closed operations. His work in this section provided depth in the areas of intra-abdominal and retroperitoneal pelvic surgery anatomy, pre-, intra- and post-operative follow-up, and quality of life.

During his 4 years at the American Hospital, he gained significant experience in minimally invasive gynecological surgery (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) with the great contributions of his teachers. Laparoscopic removal of fibroids and cysts, hysteroscopic treatment of tissues in the uterus, laparoscopic removal of the uterus, laparoscopic correction of genital organ prolapse can be counted at the beginning of these surgeries.

He is particularly interested in the surgical management of endometriosis in the ovary and intestine, among minimally invasive gynecological surgeries. The focus of her work in this area is the medical and surgical treatment and quality of life of women with endometrioma, deep infiltrating endometriosis and endometriosis-induced pelvic pain.

He took an active role in the follow-up and treatment of more than 40 women with colorectal endometriosis every year during the 4-year period she spent within the VKV Health Institutions. Dr. Tonguç Arslan worked at Florence Nightingale Ataşehir Hospital between September 2018 and December 2021, where he worked at birth control, sexual health, follow-up of healthy pregnant women, follow-up and treatment of problematic pregnancies, vaginal natural birth, fertility treatments, uterine fibroids, cysts, polycystic ovary syndrome, menstrual irregularities. He provided individual services for women's health in many areas, especially medical and surgical treatments of gynecological diseases such as cervical lesions, urinary incontinence, genital prolapse, controls and problems related to menopause.

In the same period, he attended the education of 3rd and 4th grade students of the Faculty of Medicine with the title of lecturer at Demiroğlu Bilim University. She has been continuing her private practice life in her personal practice since December 2021.

He earned the right to enter Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (Çapa). During his 6-year doctorate education, he had the opportunity to practice with the last great professors of a medical school that continued a 500-year tradition and broke new grounds. During his university life, he worked in the theater group of the faculty at different stages of the preparation of the play. He successfully completed his medical education in 2003 and graduated.
